Chest Seals

chest-seal-banner.jpg

A chest seal is a specialized type of Patient Care Supply that is used in emergency situations to treat open chest wounds, also known as sucking chest wounds. These types of wounds occur when there is an opening in the chest wall that allows air to enter the chest cavity, which can cause a life-threatening condition known as a tension pneumothorax.

A chest seal is typically made of a strong, adhesive material that is designed to stick securely to the skin surrounding the wound. The seal has a one-way valve that allows air and blood to escape from the chest cavity, but prevents air from entering back into the chest cavity.

Using a chest seal can help stabilize a patient's condition and prevent further complications until they can receive more definitive medical care. Chest seals are typically used by emergency medical responders, such as paramedics or military medics, who may encounter patients with open chest wounds in the field.

We carry many different types of chest seals from trusted name brands like North American Rescue, Telefax, SafeGuard (AKA H&H), and more. Live Action Safety has you covered for all your chest seal needs.
