Jelco ProtectIV Protective IV Catheters

Smiths Medical JELCO PROTECTIV and JELCO PROTECTIV PLUS Safety I. V. Catheters pioneered the movement to innovative safety design that protect the healthcare worker from the risks associated with accidental needlestick injuries. One of the original "safety" catheters available. Clear sheath slides over the introducer needle and locks into place creating a "safe" sharps for disposal.  For more than a decade, PROTECTIV Safety I.V. Catheters have been the trusted choice of healthcare professionals. It's easy to see why. PROTECTIV Safety I.V. Catheter offers distinct product safety features, with documented results that prove its success in reducing accidental needlesticks. Most importantly, the choice of catheter materials, FEP polymer and radiopaque polyurethane, and needlepoint design of the PROTECTIV Safety I.V. Catheter eases conversion to safety.

Q: What is the difference between ProtectIV and ProtectIV Plus?  A: ProtectIV has a FEP Polymer sheath that is white.  ProtectIV Plus has a OCRILON Polyurethane sheath that is clear. Want ProtectIV Plus (Click Here)

Best IV catheter I've used; have used for many years in neonates with great success as well as length of stay. Have used other brands as well, these are far superior.

Awful cath, just like old days you have to blook the vein with finger to not let blood come out. Braun IV cath is much better. I would avoid Jelco smith...
