Medtronic LifePak 5, 10, 11 & 12 FastPak battery pack. When optimally maintained, this new Medtronic LifePak AED battery pack has a capacity of 1.2 Amp hours. It is important to know that just turning the AED on uses up battery capacity. Also, each year, Medtronic LifePak battery capacity decreases while the battery is in the unit due to the normal self-discharge rate.
Note: Rechargeable batteries are designed for a "high-use" environment, such as Emergency Medical and Rescue Services, and hospitals. They also require a battery charging unit, and multiple batteries (one in use, one charging per AED). If your facility is not likely to use your AED frequently, we recommend the long-life, maintenance-free, non-rechargeable lithium battery.
